Review [Minialbum] “Beautiful” by f(x)’s [Amber]

I’m back! And as always I’m drowning in so many awesome songs, I hardly know where to start. So today I brought along a review of my favourite Korean female singer~

Besides 2NE1 the Korean female idol section is mostly just too fluffy and girly for my taste. You agree with me? Well, then Amber might be your hero. Or your lama, seeing as that’s her nickname.
Let’s take a look at the first solo album of f(x)’s rapper and SM’s representative tomboy – Amber!

[Random Song] “Disappear” from [The Royal Pirates]

Even though I had something else in mind, I’m gonna squeeze this song in between for now – since I’ve been in a particularly bad mood and this song came in perfectly.
Again, this is a song which is 100% in English and therefore recommendable for anyone… Who likes some rock~!
Additionally this band is still somewhat underrated and my insider-tip ;D

[5 Songs] that are meaningfully deep

*sing* Deeper than the sea~
…Yeah, right. Maybe I’m listening to Exo too much.

-This time I’m not gonna split into Korean/Japanese, but rather go for 2 Korean, 2 Japanese and 1 Chinese song-

Some people like to let go while listening to music, to forget all the problems in the world.
And I won’t deny that’s probably the intention of some artists, as well. But there are certain artists to choose otherwise: To point out problems they see or to name their innermost fears and troubles as a first step to progress them and to encourage other people to follow them in doing this. I’ve always had the habit to fall for this type of songs. Hard. They haunt me, wrap me up and don’t let me go… Does this even make sense?

I’m gonna introduce you to some songs that fall under my category of truly meaningful songs – Let’s go tackle some issues, then?

The reason for not focusing on any language is that those songs simply are the strongest ones and I wanted to keep this list on a level as high as possible. Also people shouldn’t cling to one language only~
I can still make a second list if I come upon more songs like this :)

1. BADMAN from B.A.P (Korean)

A predictable entry in this list, huh?
People who’re into K-Pop might know that B.A.P’s leader Yongguk is notoriously un-idol-like. Not overly pretty, not overly cute, just not overly attention-seeking(No offense to idols doing their job). He just seems believably human and real and has an honest soft spot for all kind of charity on top of that. Though still young he already has the feeling of a true artist sticking to him, for obvious reasons. Rather than taking the safe route he produces songs and writes lyrics which more often than not tackle various problems.

And oh boy, BADMAN is a strong song. In means of the costumes, the as always Blockbuster-like video but mostly in terms of lyrics.

Review [Mixtape] “FICTION” from Topp Dogg’s [Yano]

Hello~ Today I’m here to introduce you to a Rap-mixtape. We’re talking about the first Solo-release from Yano, the Maknae of Stardoms’ huge boyband Topp Dogg. Among 12 other members and the 3 other rappers he probably doesn’t particularly stand out to some people. Now the cute 19 year-old presents us his own personal mixtape to point out his own style.

First things first: This mixtape can be downloaded for free.
For free. Just like that. Now it’s already difficult to find reasons to not give it a try, right?
If you wanna know where to download it, you just have to go there:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/55odkw26nyoo7o4/YANOBOUT+ME+FICTION+mixtape.zip

Anyway, let’s get it going:

Artist: Yano
Title: FICTION
Year: 2014
Language: Korean

Tracklist:
01. YF20 – 8/10
02. 시체(Corpse) – 10/10
03. To Me – 7/10
04. BEAST (feat. Chancey the Glow) – 7/10
05. HAPPY (feat. Sangdo) – 9.5/10
06. DEAR – 5/10
07. SKIT – ?/10
08. 썅년 (Bitch) – 8/10
09. 누구게 (Guess Who?) – 7.5/10

Ya know about him? Most of you probably haven’t yet. This cute English catchphrase describes the origin of his artist name – Surely an improvement compared to his pre-debut name “Snoopy Swaggy”. …I’m not even going to comment this name any further. Now add his overly cute face and he probably looses all credibility as a rapper. Or does he? I would say: Surprisingly not. Out of all his bandcolleagues he has the most “badass” feeling to him. His voice is surprisingly deep and rough, his flow very fast and his lyrics are usually the most biting. So let’s see what kind of style he likes to pursue when void of the inevitable boundaries that is Topp Dogg.

[Random Song] – “Pretty Boy” from [Taemin (feat. Kai)]

…In my defense I gotta say that I hesitated quiet a few days before I gave in. Actually I don’t even like Taemin and just gave it a listen for the sake of Kai(Yupp, I’m one of that girls).
Always wondered what his actual skills might look like
After initially dismissing this song, I found myself coming back to it more and more frequently, though.
Damnit, I’m hooked.

Warning: This is going to contain a long rant about stereotypes and stuff. Sorry not sorry

[Random Song] “Don’t look at me like that” from [Song Ji Eun]

I was really not planning on writing another Random Song. Actually, I wasn’t even planning on listening to this song in the first place. People who follow this blog should have already noticed by now, that I’m not overly fond of girlbands. It takes something to convince me.
Like the fresh lyrics from Sunny Hill for example.
Or the slightly out-of-ordinary f(x) songs. Or the totally out of order 2NE1.
So what is so captivating about this song? I’ll let you know in a minute.

[5 Songs] that are plain hot(Korean)

Woooh, I’m back! Sorta. I’m using an old netbook I lent, so my possibilites are still kinda narrow, but let’s see what we can do~
I’m now back from Korea aaa~nd, first thing I did…? I caught a cold. Seriously, it’s really warm here(about 25 Degrees), but the Korean temperature brings ‘hot’ to a totally different level. Why am I babbling about this? Can’t you see the poor pun on ‘hot songs’ announcing itself on the horizon? You can? Thank god, let’s skip this, then.

With the overflowing ‘sexy concepts’ everywhere, my opinion became just more refined lately. There are different types of sexy: One, the almost desperate undressing and showcasing of bare skin which, at times, is not only totally uneccessary(*cough* Nu’est’s Sleep Talking *cough*), but also incredibly awkward at other ones(BTS, I’m looking at YOU. I really love you and I do believe you; you have abs. No need to reassure me in every damn Choreo, ok?).
Now let’s drop the rant and move on to the second type, the one that gives me goosebumps because it’s really sexy.

1. When, Where, How from Park Kyung

I think you all know by now my love for the Block B’s bubbly rapper Kyung. It’s also probably safe to say that this duet on the ‘Very Good’ mini album came as a surprise in two ways. One: Kyung can not only be dorky, but also has an amazingly soft yet strong voice. Two: Damn, this song is sexy. It’s basically a song about lazy morning sex. Doesn’t sound too enticing, but the soft vocals carry lyrics that are very sensitive and colorful:

Instead of a morning call, the rain wakes me up
Between those sounds, I hear you ruffling around
It’s 11 o’clock, the curtains are closed
I like things just the way they are right now

Your tangled hair, your sleepy voice
You wear my x-large t-shirt…
Don’t mind the mess around us
Don’t mind it… Continue reading

[Random Song] “Body Language” from San E feat. Bumkey

This song has been out for… A few hours? I’d love to make a full Mv Review, but with my phone…? Naah.
Still, you may like – no scratch that, you’ll probably like, but you may love this song like I do! :D

…Oh, and don’t be deceived by the Cover, it hardly mirrors anything that’s happening in this video! ;D Later on it gets more like… This:

Very… San E-ish, for that matter.

[5 Songs] from Super Junior that are not “Sorry, Sorry”

Since the beloved SuJu Leader Leeteuk was recently discharged from his Military Service, we should take the opportunity to give some fresh Love to Super Junior~

20140731-211550-76550869.jpg

Regarding Super Junior there is one obvious problem that makes a lot of people eye them rather suspiciously: For a long time their title songs sounded pretty much the same. Following SM’s philosophy of “Don’t fix what’s not broken” their title songs were so very close to their breakthrough song “Sorry, Sorry”, that it became somewhat of a Running Gag among K-Pop fans. Sadly, it also gave them the image of being neither talented nor innovative.
And thaaa~t’s why I’m gonna introduce you to some of my favourite SuJu songs that sound nothing like “Sorry, Sorry”! ♪
(As always it goes after my personal preference – But I’ll try to cover various Genres :D)

1. – “Superman”

This is probably the most well-known song on this list – It even has some kind of backstage-video :)
I got to know SuJu through “Mr. Simple”, but this song hooked me.
Okay, the “Shupa-man~!” kinda reminded me on a Chupa Chips Lollipop. But it’s still awesome. It can be seen as a tribute to the band and all the hardships they survived. Especially Kyuhyuns Vocals at the end of the song are amazingly strong.
You should also check out their performance of Superman at the Mama Awards ♪
